RE: Huge trip Leaving Oct 6th

Thanks....OK,,
next major let from Beaver UT to Reno
where 70 joins 15.... there is a road...50 going west all the way... looks interesting
Going across US50 (aka the lonliest road in the world) is a worthwhile trip. We have driven it twice and really enjoyed both it times, just make sure you have plenty of fuel. There is one stretch of road that has no services for over 90 miles.
The last time we were across there the road was in good shape. There are several low mountain ranges to cross but nothing serious. Traffic is almost non existent, you will go for miles without seeing another vehicle.
Enjoy your trip.

I was wondering about the same thing. I've been doing my usual, just lurking in the shadows.

RE: why i like retirement

I've often been asked, 'What do you old folks do now that you're retired?'
Well...I'm fortunate to have a few friends who have chemical engineering backgrounds, and one of the things we enjoy most is turning beer, wine, bourbon, and martinis into urine.
And, we're pretty darn good at it, too!

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 15-17, 2009

Mineral oil idea sounds interesting. May try it for the winter to help keep the evaporation down.
Hopefully, the orginal start battery will hold out until spring. What do all use for your start battery on a gas rig?
Ron, I now have all Schwab batteries in mine. Had to get a new engine battery two years ago at the Port Townsend mini rally, then replaced the house batteries last summer. I'm pretty sure they were all made by Trojan. Think I'll try the mineral oil also, my engine battery is getting some corrosion on the hold down.

RE: Northwest Spring Rally, May 15-17, 2009

Otto.......Tom said he did have the coach batteries off. He thinks the batteries are old, (6 years) so that could be their problem but something drained the main battery also. He is replacing the coach batteries and having an electrical check on the MH tomorrow. need to get everything fixed soon before the weather gets really ugly.
What are the coach batteries of choice for all of you guys? Trojan or interstate??
Tom
I replaced the Interstate batteries in our coach last year (6 yrs old) with Les Schwab Marine/RV deep cycle. Seems like they were made by Trojan, but could be wrong about the mfg. Haven't had any problems with them so far. The cost last year was $84.80 each.

RE: Where is Auto Park RGS?

The reservoir and pump on an '02 Brave are under the hood on the driver side behind and just under the radiator overflow tank. The RGS is kind of hard to see, it is behind some wire bundles. Hope this helps.

Tom, Get in the motorhome and head for the coast.
Hobo
Wish I could but Pat volunteered us to dogsit this weekend so the kids could go to the coast. Probably be so crowded over there that I couldn't find a camping spot anyway.

Congratulations on winning the grill Jon. Too bad you don't have it here in Mac this weekend, you could use it without the wood pellets. The temp yesterday was 101 and today's forecast is for 107deg. Sure could use some of that cool weather we had at PT.

Pat and I got home about 3:00 o'clock yesterday afternoon, really enjoyed getting to see everyone again. Don't know about all that food though, I'm three pounds heavier now than I was before the rally. Good thing I had my semi annual checkup with the Dr. before the rally instead of afterwards.

Tom, How come you no call me for coffee? I would have come down to Fife.
Oh well see you and Pat Thursday.
Hobo
Hobo, we didn't stop in Fife, I saw the fuel price as we passed by, the other driver was driving and I was sightseeing. We were through Fife at around 7:00 AM, so you were probably still sawing logs. I thought about calling you and stopping at the Poodle Dog on the way back but I didn't have enough time. Pat had a doctors appointment at 3:00 PM and I had to be back before 2:30 to take her to it.
One of these days I'll be through there and stop for a cup of coffee. This was the first time I had been up that way without a trailer for over a year.
See you Thur afternoon, Tom

You know, you could just go like me and wash both truck and trailer once a year whether they need it or not. :B
I agree, I washed the MH just before we went to Az last Feb so that should be good until next year.

RE: NW Mini-rally,Aug 8-9-10 '08

Well it's done, Got GAS, $122.33 at $3.959.
Was time to change oil, so came home and did that. Was going to have Walmart do the job, but they wanted $49.95, so came home and did it myself. Getting harder and harder to crawl under the truck.
Hobo
Hobo, I was up your way yesterday morning, went to Edmonds to get a new Toyota Solara. The Shell station just south of Fife had regular gas for $3.93 a gallon.
I lubed the MH Monday, already had the oil changed, did that when we got back from Az. Still have to gas it up, the lowest price here in Mac is $4.09/gal. Hopefully it will drop a few more pennies before we leave.
See you Thur afternoon, Tom

Hobo, we are two weeks from the mini, looking forward to having morning coffee with you and the rest. Looks like Tom is coming up from Oregon so the two of you can work on the wheel chair races.
Are the wheelchairs going to be motorized?????

Sounds like a fun place for a rally, I'm all for it, wonder how much transportation to get an RV over there would cost? Or we could always rent a camel and do tent camping.
